Plants are a popular buy at car boots. It's summer, people are out in their gardens and they're looking for bargain plants as well as household items and clothing. Grow some extra vegetables or flower seeds in the spring, ready for a car boot. However, do be aware of what pots you're putting them in. I sell jams and chutneys alongside plants. Again presentation is important. If you want people to part with their money for something which is edible, they expect it to look good. Likewise, don't forget the table you are putting things on. If it's not particularly attractive take an old tablecloth or other cover to drape over it, it's amazing what effect a bit of prettyingup can have.
Produce also sells well. Cooking apples, vegetables and other fruits, and even eggs will all sell especially if you're undercutting shops and present fresh, organic food. I preweigh and bag things like apples rather than take a scale with me as it's easier.
Cakes both single cupcakes and larger ones can make you some extra cash. Do be aware however that if it's a charity car boot or table top sale, the organiser will often provide refreshments as a way of raising money for the charity.

I snapped up several pairs of lovely shoes at bargain prices which I then resold on eBay for many times what I'd paid for them.
All sorts of items which might be 'as new' could also be soldon with sites like eBay.
